Do you know Kirsh Bakery, Kirsh Bakery, Kirsh Bakery ????
I have been on a subconscious journey in NYC (mainly Manhattan) to find a cute spot to go have a bite with the people closest to me or just myself. Like I have stated in posts prior, that it is not about just the delicious food (though it is very important, believe me) it is also about that place that helps to deliver a great eating experience. I have found such a place in Kirsh Bakery & Kitchen. The food is delicious (which I will touch upon later in the this post) but also the place itself is cute. The place is simple in decor and color but at the same time not so simple. The aesthetic is one part as well as the service leaves nothing to be desired.
Must Tries and Will Tries
If you are just looking for a cup of coffee (more like a cappuccino or latte) and a danish, Kirsh Bakery is just the place. They have delicious danishes and brioche breads. I have gone ordered just that and read a book. Their danishes are flaky and delicious. Their bread is sooooo soft and be sure to ask for their jam. You can definitely taste that is not store bought and that is a great thing. I know because I have made jam, myself, it tastes so good when it is natural. You taste the actual fruit juices that have been coaxed out of the berries by heat and lemon juice. If you like tangy, delicious jam
then you will love theirs.
If you want something simple, enjoyable but filling then try their oatmeal. It is inexpensive for their portion size. You can easily share it with someone, which I have done with my mom. They have some nice toppings such as cinnamon, pecans, maple and brown sugar. Mine I tend to keep simple with just cinnamon and pecans. I also highly recommend their french toasts. There are a few to choose from and so far I have not been disappointed. I have only, truthfully, had their brunch items and their bakery treats but the quality of what I have tried has been impeccable. I am eyeing their Mac n’ Gruyere, Lobster French Toast ( a dinner appetizer), Roasted Seabass and cheeseburger with Gorgonzola cheese. Here is their website for Kirsh Bakery & Kitchen
Yesterday’s Trip to Kirsh
My mom and I went their yesterday (at her request…..demand, rather) and I had her try the cinnamon danish ( which she loved), coffee and their bacon swiss & egg french toast (second time that I have ordered this dish) which was scrumptious and creative. Let me tell you, it was huge…HUGE. We had to share it but man, is it ever sssssooooo good. Prior to them bringing our coffees and warmed danish, they brought out some bread and olive oil. Their sourdough bread was so soft and tasty. Seriously when you dip it in their olive oil and bring it to your mouth, your insides dance.
What made all of this food taste even better, is their wonderful service. The waitress was busy but she was great and very helpful while attentive. She was the only one at the time. She didn’t try to rush us when we took our time after we finished our meal. The busboy was very nice and helpful to the waitress. I was a waitress, I know what it is like to be busy and the only one working the floor. Even the person working the bakery side helped bring our danish out. Great teamwork from them all.
White Medallion Ceiling Tiles, Herringbone Patterns and Wood OH MY
Every time I have gone to Kirsh, it has been pleasant starting with the look of the place, Very clean and simple in their choice of colors. The white walls and intricate, white ceiling tiles go well with the herring-boned marble tiles floor in a stylish way. The perfect pop of colors are brought in with the chairs, which some are red, and the doors which are a grayish blue. Honestly, it is very refreshing alongside the tables which some are a nice blonde wood while others are marble. There is a lot of texture and simplicity that feeds into my need for a a creative design. It feels homey but done in a smart way. Another thing they do that goes well with the design is the music choices they make. I love the song choices from soft jazz to early Beach Boys to 1920’s music. The music along with the food, service and delicious pastries to their savory dishes, it is a very gratifying experience there. One is at peace while in a heaven-like state.
Treat yourself by going to Kirsh
If you have not already gone and enjoyed Kirsh, I suggest you do yourself a favor, head on over an get yourself a cinnamon danish. Let me know what you think, if you have already or when you do. Let me know that your favorites are.
