Mac n’ Cheetos and My Mom Plus all the in Between

Mac n’ Cheetos?? Do tell….

I saw a video about Mac n’ Cheetos from Burger King by Reportoftheweek on YouTube and obviously it would make me need to try them out. I mean, Cheetos and mac n’ cheese. What is there not to like? I love cheese and almost anything that has cheese on it or in it. So of course I was excited to try it but this time I didn’t know when I would be getting a chance to try them because the closest Burger King locations were not very sanitary. It had to be put on the back burner until I could find a decent Burger King. Mac n’ Cheetos, Mac n’ Cheetos, all I want is Mac n’ Cheetos… Mac n’ Cheetos please!!!!!!

Let’s Go Out….and Ride on Magical Fish Under the Sea

My mom and I were hanging out (as we do often), eating breakfast when we decided to go out to South Ferry and walk along the pier. Weather was just right, great to walk along the pier with the breeze off the water. My mother and I were going to have great time together while relaxing. We walked a bit and admired the architecture of the area. We walked some more and stumbled upon a unique merry-go-round that made me feel like my mom and I were under the sea. It was kind of magical. For only $5.00 we were transported to an underwater adventure filled with music and colors. It is called Sea Glass, and you get to ride on colorful fish. My mom and I escaped for a moment.

The Pier and its Gardens

After we got off our pleasant ride in the sea, we went on down the pier and took in the calmness of the water. There was a breeze and people around but the calmness comes from the small glimpses of nature all around. The smell of the water, the songs of the birds, the greenery all around us in the those moments, in that day. The peace and serenity that can bring joy into your heart. It was what my mom and I needed at that moment. We kept walking and went through the Battery Gardens. Flowers all shades of purple and benches with people enjoying each other’s company. There was a small rectangle of metal tiles in a clearing. I saw a lady coming off the tiles and they there was a bit of music as she moved off them. I got closer and wanted to see where the music came from. So I stepped on a tile and nothing happened. The tile bounced but no sound came from it so I hopped on the rest and they started clanging in a song. I loved it like a kid in a candy shop, and I needed more. I did it for a bit and recorded myself while I was dancing on the tile.

Learning is Fundamental

After we went through the park after the Gardens, we saw the National Museum of the American Indian and decided to go in. My mom had already been there last year with her brother (whom is a dentist as well as a historian) while he was visiting from Mexico. Well i like to visit museums any chance i get and thought since it is free admission, why not? It is pretty grand in appearance. It is gorgeous. My mom and I only went through three exhibits but we took a long time getting through them as we were absorbing all that we saw. The first part is at the beginning of the museum. It was called Patriot Nations: Native Americans in Our Nation’s Armed Forces. The exhibit gave detailed history with examples of individual experiences of Native Americans in the armed forces during different wars of their treatments and reasons why they were in the armed forces. It was insightful because most of this was not taught to me in school.

Art and Fashion tell many Stories

The next exhibit we went through was Native Fashion Now. It is still going on now through September 4th of this year.  My mom and I love looking at fashion from magazines to shows like Project Runway, so this was a treat. We found some awesome Native American designers with unique styles. One of whom was in Project Runway. I loved how they all incorporated their culture and heritage into their pieces. The last exhibit for us was Ceramica de los Ancestros: Central America’s Past Revealed. This exhibit brought to the stories of the past with ceramics left by the people of Central America with some ranging from 1000 BC. Each were crafted in delicate and unique ways. Some were simple in design while others were elaborate and intricately designed. The museum is a great history lesson in itself if you have time you should visit before these exhibits end.

Now to the Mac n’ Cheetos

After we left the museum we realized that we were hungry and stumbled upon a clean and decent looking Burger King so we knew that was the choice for us….well I knew and my mom went along with that. Of course I got the infamous Mac N’Cheetos that I was longing for. We also got the Froot Loops shake because my mother had not yet had the pleasure of having it, we also needed to get some Burger King fries because they are way better than McD’s and Wendy’s fries.Last but not least we got the BBQ Bacon Crispy Chicken Sandwich for us to share. Well we were sharing the whole meal.

The Assessment

To me, Burger King is not the best for burgers. I hardly think to myself that I should go to Burger King but their chicken sandwiches are decent and their bacon is better than McD’s anyday so their chicken sandwich was a yes for me. It was tasty, crispy, tender, barbecue-y and bacon-y goodness. The shake, which I have had about twice before, was just as delightful and refreshing as before. The first sip is odd the second sip is so yummy. Tastes just like Froot Loops, well maybe because it has chunks of Froot Loops in the shake but not cloyingly sweet. The fries taste just as good as i remembered them being. They were fresh, not stale, and hot. They have an obvious potato fresh taste. Like you know that they came from an actual potato not like other fries that don’t really have a flavor to it.

Last but not least, Mac n’Cheetos….they were a treat.I loved how the mac was coated in the Cheetos dust. I love mac n’ cheese and love Cheetos so the combination was very satisfying to me. It was so cheesy and surprisingly good for a fast food place.Mac n’ cheese is messed up a lot in different restaurants that it makes me weary to order it but happy I did this time. Made me wish I didn’t have to share but glad that my mom liked the meal just as much so I didn’t feel it was wasted. Just kidding….not really.

Happy Minds, Happy Tummys, Happy Day

All in all, it was a great day and it ended on a yummy note. My mom and I got to have another pleasant day together and got to know each other a little more. Have a good night and thanks for reading. If you want me to checkout any places, let me know in the comments.

Hey, I just wanted to let you in on a bit of stuff. I am married and call my husband The Kid. Edit: I am separated from The Kid. It is bumpy but that is life. I am still dealing with it. Everyday is a new day and I can only take it day by day.
For as long as I remember, I have had a lot of passions and different ways of expressing myself. I love helping people and having fun. I hope to be able to bring all my passions together here and share them with others. I hope whomever reads this can benefit from it in some way. Have a blessed day.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I really appreciate the compliments. I try to be as natural in my writing as possible when it comes to reviewing something. I like to tell a story. I did not know if people wouldlike it or that it would translate well. Thanks for the support.

Thank you very much for your comments. It is rather simple because I learned to do it haha but with a little patience and research anything is possible. Just work at it.
